Two weeks from their Broadway debut, a young cast lost their opening night to the pandemic. So they turned a two-and-a-half-hour musical into a half-hour Facebook Live performance for the city that needed it.
The cast of Sing Street was two weeks from their first Broadway debut when the pandemic postponed the show indefinitely.
Instead of accepting the bad news, we helped the young cast rally, turning a full Broadway musical into a half-hour online performance on Facebook Live, all to support New Yorkers in the epicenter of the pandemic.
Set in '80s Dublin, Sing Street is about a boy who uses the power of music to make something good out of a bad situation. In the same spirit, we set out to bring a moment of joy and relief to a dark time, part musical, part Facebook Live event.
